Are You Listening for God’s Voice?
In a world flooded with noise, opinions, and spiritual static, many believers are asking the same honest question:
“How do I know if I’m really hearing from God?”
You’re not alone. This confusion is running deep inside the Church. We’ve got people filling pews every Sunday, flipping through devotionals, scrolling sermons online — and still not recognizing the voice of the One they claim to follow.
Here’s the Problem.
Far too many no longer know what God’s voice sounds like.
We’ve lost the frequency. The spiritual ears are dull. And let’s be clear — this isn’t just a “season of doubt” issue. This is a foundational crisis.
If you can’t hear the Shepherd, how will you follow Him?
It’s time to return to the basics — not shallow faith, but solid, grounded, Scriptural clarity. We must be people who know the sound of God’s voice. Not a feeling, not a vibe — His speech.
What Scripture Shows Us
We were reminded how clearly God has spoken in the past.
Remember Jesus’ baptism? The heavens opened and a voice declared:
“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
That wasn’t symbolic — that was God speaking with clarity and power. And let’s be honest: we hunger for that kind of encounter. But the question remains — how do we recognize His voice now?
It Starts with Familiarity
It’s not about whether God speaks in thunder or in whispers.
It’s about relationship.
You know the voices of your family, your friends — you’d recognize them in a crowd. Why? Because you’ve spent time with them. You’ve listened.
The same goes for God.
The more we saturate our hearts with His Word, the more tuned-in we become. His voice won’t be a mystery — it’ll become unmistakable.
A Necessary Warning
But not every voice claiming to speak for God is from God.
And this Pastor didn’t hold back — he called it out.
Too many preachers today are delivering messages that flat-out contradict the teachings of Jesus Christ.
He compared it to a song meant to glorify God — but it’s filled with off-key notes, false tones, and unholy agendas. And if you’re not discerning, you’ll nod your head to a melody that’s leading you away from the truth.
Here’s the bottom line:
Just because it’s said behind a pulpit, in Jesus’ name, with Bible verses sprinkled in — doesn’t mean it came from the mouth of God.
Be Watchful. Be Discerning. Be Ready.
God still speaks.
But it’s up to us to quiet the noise, tune our hearts, and learn His voice again.
This isn’t just important — it’s life or death.
The sheep must know the Shepherd’s voice. Because when the counterfeit comes — and it will come — those who know Him will not be fooled.
The Shepherd vs. The Hireling
There’s a difference between a true shepherd and a hireling — and Jesus made that distinction clear.
“I am the Good Shepherd,” Jesus said.
But He also warned us: the hireling — the one who’s only in it for gain — will abandon the flock the moment trouble comes.
That wasn’t just a theological concept — that was a spiritual warning. And today, it’s more relevant than ever.
Too many pulpits are filled with hirelings — men who speak smooth words but run when truth costs them something.
A real shepherd lays down his life. A real shepherd leads with truth and love — not manipulation and greed.
You need to ask yourself:
Who are you following?
And more importantly — where are they leading you?
The Real Fight We’re In
This is a spiritual battlefield.
Not every voice claiming to be “Christian” is leading you toward Christ. Many voices today are encouraging and even pursuading believers to mingle with the Harlot of Revelation.
The Pastor didn’t sugarcoat it — he called out the voices inside the church that encourage behavior, attitudes, and beliefs that don’t reflect the character of Jesus at all.
He urged us to wage war — not with flesh and blood, but against every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.
Don’t just sit there and absorb everything you hear.
Test the spirits. Challenge the message. Line it up with the words of Jesus.
Recognizing God’s Voice — Even Now
Here’s the truth:
God is still speaking.
But are you listening?
The Pastor reminded us: it’s not mystical, and it’s not complicated. But it is intentional.
You want to know His voice?
Then you have to know His Word.
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
You won’t recognize truth if you don’t know the Source.
You won’t reject the counterfeit if you’ve never spent time with the real.
The Real Question: Are You Ready?
So now we ask:
Are you hearing the voice of God — or just echoes from doctrines of devils?
Are you truly ready to follow Jesus Christ — even when it costs, even when it’s uncomfortable?
This journey won’t always be easy — but it will be worth it.
